Why does the merchant name appear differently depending on how I use my card?
The way your transaction appears on your statement depends on how the payment is processed by the platform you're using:
Example:
-
Direct Card Payment (e.g., entering card number on Netflix):
The transaction is processed directly by Netflix, so your statement will typically show "Netflix" or a similar merchant name.
-
Apple Pay / Google Pay (or other third-party wallets):
These platforms act as intermediaries, so the transaction might be routed through their systems. As a result, the merchant name could show up as "Apple Services," "iTunes," or another Apple-related label instead of "Netflix."
In this scenario, if the displayed merchant is not listed in our rebate program, the transaction will not be eligible for the 100% rebate.
